Going to be at Disney on 12/16-12/24 with our 12 and 10 yr old sons at the AllStar Sports Resort. The last time we went to Disney our boys were 4 and 5 and we had a blast during Star Wars weekends! Any suggestions of things to not miss this time around?

    Hi Anne,

Our son (now 11) loved Star Wars Weekend too. For the parks, he never misses Soarin' and Test Track in Epcot. At Magic Kingdom, the faves are Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. He also loves to explore Tom Sawyer Island on his own! At Animal Kingdom, the faves are Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl and Kilimanjaro Safari. At Hollywood Studios, it's all about Star Tours (over and over!). The new, updated Star Tours ride is not to be missed!

Since you are headed to Disney during the holiday season, I would suggest Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. With the boys being older, stay til midnight and you'll get to walk on most rides!

Another big hit with tweens is going to a water park. Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for refurbishment during your visit but Blizzard Beach will be open. Find a place to relax and let the kids explore the slides!

DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney is another tween hot spot!

You might also want to play miniature golf at the Winter Summerland course.

Have a meal at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Our son is still talking about the server's antics after our most recent trip there!
