    we will be in Disney from 11/1-11/8 with our 2 year old son. a friend wants to buy us a giftcard to an "event" or something special to celebrate our son's birthday - are there any restaurants/events to purchase in advance by gift card?

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  How kind of your friend to want to help you celebrate.  You'll be happy to hear that the Disney Gift Card is readily accepted at most locations throughout Walt Disney World.  So you friend could simply purchase the gift card for you, and you can use it to pay for a meal, dinner show,  merchandise, or an event such as the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage.
