We will be at Disney this year (2014) for Easter Sunday and were wondering if any of the theme parks do anything special to celebrate Easter?

    Hi Elizabeth,

It's always fun to hear from a fellow Rhode Islander! Easter is a fun time to visit Walt Disney World (any time is a fun time to visit). It will most likely be VERY crowded. That doesn't mean you won't have a good time. It just means you need to be prepared for large crowds and long lines.

There are church services usually held at the Contemporary Resort on Easter Sunday. In the past there has been a Catholic service and a Non-Denominational service.

As far as special events in the theme parks, themselves, Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny can usually be found at Magic Kingdom. In the past there have also been Easter Egg hunts and relays in Epcot for younger children (ages 3-9), and Mr. and Mrs. Bunny usually make an appearance there as well.

Many of the restaurants have special brunch menus, and the resorts often have special activities on Easter.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
