Hello there Dudley, and welcome to planDisney!
They say it's never too early to plan for your next vacation over the holidays, especially when it comes to how popular it can be for everyone
celebrating all across Walt Disney World Resort around Christmastime. For so many folks and families like mine growing up, being able to attend a Catholic mass on Christmas Eve was so important for my parents and there definitely seems to be a fair share of guests who feel compelled to take time out of their vacation in order to continue this faithful tradition.
Though details for this year's upcoming Christmas celebrations have not been released and cannot be guaranteed, posted signage around the
Disney Resort Hotels from last December shared the following details with guests which can give you an idea of what you might expect this year:
- Parking restrictions remained in place at Disneys Contemporary Resort (which currently restrict access to guests staying there or with dining reservations), and the signage recommended a total of 90 minutes for guests to make their way to the service.
It's important to bear in mind that I was able to locate this information with a bit of additional research as this was not necessarily widely posted online;
last December fellow Panelist Jason noted how details had not been released online for months and even leading up to Christmas, Cast Members were still informing guests that no service would be taking place. (When religious services are not offered at Walt Disney World Resort, guests are often redirected to the Mary, Queen of the Universe Basilica just beyond Disney Springs.) As offerings like this may be subject to change and cannot be guaranteed, it's a great idea to follow the advice to speak with the folks at the
Front Desk as you check in at your Disney Resort Hotel for the most up-to-date information as you keep an eye out for similar signage during your stay.
I hope this helps, Dudley - you're always welcome back here at planDisney for any other answers you seek ahead of your Disney adventures this December, as you navigate your way through the inevitable Christmas crowds!
Here's to spending a special time of year at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
