Hi Jill,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
It sounds like you’re in the beginning stage of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. This part of the planning process is always so fun for me because as I plan, I continuously look forward to what’s ahead.
Though I don’t have information on the lowest attendance days, I can share with you how I think about timing and planning my vacations.
First, I’ll point out that the Walt Disney World Resort is very popular, so there are many guests at all times of the year. Don’t let that keep you away though, there are ways to bypass the crowds (we’ll get to that in the last paragraph)!
When I’m thinking about my Walt Disney World Resort vacations, I like to skip vacations during major holidays, breaks, or in the middle of the summer. So instead of coming around Easter, which is a popular time for spring break, I’ll come a few weeks before. If I want to visit close to summertime, I’ll visit in May while most schools are still in session. Between September (after Labor Day) and October (before Halloween) are also times I’ve visited in the past. Now, if you’re planning with children in your party and you can’t bypass major breaks, maybe visit a few days before or stay a few days after a major holiday. This could help tremendously!
Here are a few ways to bypass the crowds even if you come during a major holiday. First, you’ll want to utilize
Disney Genie+ Service and
Individual Lightning Lanes. This will save you time as you’re riding attractions throughout your vacation. Here’s a
quick breakdown of both Services I shared in a recent answer. Secondly, utilize
Early Entry! Guests staying at Disney Resorts Collection and other select hotels are currently able to enter the Theme Parks 30 minutes early every day. If used in the right way, you could already have a ride or two done by the time the Theme Parks open! Finally, stay in the Theme Parks until they close. If your party can stay up late, it will be totally worth it! For example, plan a day by the pool or at
Disney Springs, then head to a Theme Park around 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. As nightfall comes, you'll notice that guests start to wait around for the fireworks, that means wait times will continue to decrease and you can ride more attractions!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you begin planning for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
