We are going to Disney world the 1st week of April 2018. We have magic band from our last visit from 2013, can we link those bands to our tickets this year and will it work as our room key as well?

    Hello Gary!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am excited that we will be seeing you at the Walt Disney World Resort again real soon!

If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel you will receive new complimentary MagicBands so there is no need to bring the ones from 2013. In addition, it is very likely that those are not working anymore, since the RFID technology in the bands usually lasts for about 2 years. You should be receiving your new MagicBands in the mail real soon. Please contact (407) 939-4357 if they have not arrived within 6 days of the start of your Walt Disney World Resort visit. Do not worry though, because in case you do not receive them you will be provided with new ones upon check-in at your Disney Resort hotel Front Desk. As a Disney Resort hotel Guest your tickets will be automatically linked to your MagicBands and you will be able to use them as the key to your room. You can even check in online and skip front desk, if you have them upon arrival, and go straight to your room.

In case you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel you can buy new MagicBands at ShopDisney.com or you can visit World of Disney store at Disney Springs upon arrival and choose from a great selection. Some Guests also like to buy MagicBands at Orlando International Airport. There are two stores where you can find them in case you arrive by plane. Log in to your Disney account to link your MagicBands to your park admission tickets.

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical visit.
