Hiya Dennis!
Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you made the hop across the pond to get your all-important Disney holiday planning questions answered. It’s always a treat to help our international Guests get the most out of their magical visit to
Walt Disney World Resort.
At the moment, Dennis, we’re sailing through uncharted waters, and that’s not just a nod to the wave pool at
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon! Since 2019, Disney’s water parks have generally followed an alternating operating schedule, with
Disney’s Blizzard Beach typically open during the fall and winter months, and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon taking over during spring and summer. But for the first time in several years, both water parks are open at the same time this summer, starting May 25, 2025, as recently announced on the
Disney Parks Blog.
So, what does that mean for your trip in early May 2026? At this point, it’s hard to say whether this is a one-time splash or if Madame Leota’s crystal ball is showing us a new trend. My best advice? Keep a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog for updates as your trip gets closer, or pop back over to planDisney for the latest scoop when you’re a bit nearer to your travel dates.
Rest assured, Dennis, even if only one water park is open during your stay, there’s plenty of fun in the sun waiting for you! Each park offers a unique experience. Typhoon Lagoon with its tropical island vibes and seriously massive surf pool, and Blizzard Beach with its snow-capped thrills and one of the tallest water slides in the world.
And don’t forget, your
14-Day Magic Ticket is loaded with extra magic! Not only does it include access to the theme parks and water parks, but it also comes with Memory Maker and mini golf.
Memory Maker allows you to download all of your
Disney PhotoPass photos, from ride moments to family portraits in front of Cinderella Castle, all captured by Disney’s talented photographers. It’s a priceless way to bring your magical memories home with you.
As for mini golf, you can choose between the festive
Winter Summerland or
Fantasia Gardens, inspired by the classic animated film. Both are perfect for some lighthearted family fun or a bit of friendly competition between park days.
Dennis, if you want help crafting a practically perfect in every way holiday, I take great pride in helping Guests with everything from dining reservations to my favorite cocktail spots, hidden viewing areas for Happily Ever After, and top picks from the Disney Resorts Collection. If there’s anything else you need as you count down to 2026,
you know where to find me!
Cheers,
Brent
