Hi Michele!
While I wish that you were writing to us under better circumstances, Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. First off, I do hope that everything is okay with your family. I'll be sending you and yours extra special happy thoughts all day long today!
Yes, Walt Disney World Resort vacations do have some wiggle room for rescheduling. My husband is in the Military and we had to reschedule our son's first trip to meet Mickey not once, not twice, but THREE times due to the needs of Uncle Sam. One of the reschedulings happened 36 hours before we were supposed to leave for the Most Magical Place on Earth. It's a bit of a process, but I have no doubt that you'll be able to replan the Best! Vacation! Ever! once everyone is all better.
You'll have to call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservation line to take care of your
Disney Resort Hotel Room, as well as be advised on what to do about your Disney Theme Park Tickets. Their number is (407) 939-1936. We were able to cancel our Dining Reservations on our own through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, but if you have any pre-paid meals, Disney Dining Plans, or Enchanting Extras like Tours, I would call the Disney Dining Reservation Line for assistance in canceling those. Their number is (407) 939-1947.
Pro Tip: If you reschedule your room you might be able to lock-in whatever price you were originally quoted as opposed to canceling your entire vacation and booking a new one later. If you don't know your alternative dates now, pick a generic date for a few months from now, then once you've collected your bearings from this hospital visit you can call back to reschedule to your real new date.
I'll hope for a speedy recovery for all, Michele, and I hope that we get to see you all real soon!
~Kristen
