Hiya Autumn,
Welcome to planDisney! I always love connecting with a Texan for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Just like everything is big in Texas, when it comes to planning vacations, the bigger, the better (which takes a lot of advanced planning).
I love having
Memory Maker for my vacations, especially now that I’m a mom. With someone else behind the camera, I can put my phone away and focus on being present with my family. Great news, Autumn; when you purchase Memory Maker in advance, you do not need to activate it immediately.
Activation occurs when you download your first photo on the My Disney Experience Mobile App or
Disney PhotoPass. You can purchase Memory Maker now and wait until your visit in five weeks to activate it officially. If you decide to wait until closer to your trip to buy, don’t forget that there is a three-day waiting period from the initial purchase until you can redeem your Memory Maker. So any pictures captured during that three days are not included in your Memory Maker.
Before I let you go, Autumn, I have one last reminder for you. Once you activate your Memory Maker, all your photos within the 30-day period after activation are included, but you still have an expiration date for when your images must be downloaded. Make sure to set a calendar reminder in your phone for the expiration date of your first photo. This will help you get them all downloaded and saved before they disappear. I hope this was helpful, and please come back and see us if you need anything else!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
