We are going to Disney World for the 1st time and we will be there from 7/1/12 to 7/7/12 and we wondering if there is anything Special going on for the 4th of July? My kids are 10, 7, and 5 years old.

    Hi Jennifer!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

There are several special July 4th fireworks shows, scheduled at the theme parks.  There will be a patriotic display at Magic Kingdom, a rock’n’roll spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a classic sky show at Epcot infused with an Independence Day finale.

The Magic Kingdom fireworks show - "Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Spectacular" starts at 9.00 p.m. on July 4th,  If you are in the Magic Kingdom park on July 3rd, they will also be showing these special fireworks at 9.00 p.m. that day.  If you don't wish to visit the Magic Kingdom park on July 4th, you can view the fireworks from the beaches of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, or Disney's Polynesian Resort.  I would recommend you arrive at these beaches early, as it is sure to be busy.

Disney's Hollywood Studios will be hosting the "Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration!" at 9.45 p.m. or you can enjoy Fantasmic! at 9.00 p.m. and 10.30 p.m.

Epcot is showing a special “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” at 10.00 p.m.

I hope you will be able to find a spot to watch one of these wonderful displays, they are not to be missed!

If you have any other questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your first magical vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!
