Hello Robin,
Thank you for stopping in to see us here at planDisney.
First, let me share how sorry I am to hear about your dad's illness. I wish for him, and for you and all your family, all the wellbeing that's possible.
When you purchase Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets, you can have some peace of mind knowing that you have a few options for making changes to your tickets.
One option you have is that you can make changes to your
theme park ticket dates, as well as other ticket modifications, up to midnight ET of the day before the first valid use date on the theme park ticket.
Using the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can go to the "Tickets and Passes" option (you can find it from the app's main menu -- the 3 stacked lines in the lower corner of the app's main screen). You can select your ticket and use the "Change Ticket" option to modify the dates. Because the theme park tickets are date-based, there might be a price difference in the tickets depending on the new dates you select.
Another option that you have is that the price you paid for the theme park ticket that is unused and has expired can be
applied to the purchase of a new theme park ticket. The new theme park ticket would need to be priced the same as or higher than your original ticket.
When you are planning for the new dates you wish to visit the theme parks, it's helpful to look at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to see which theme parks have reservations that are available to select. You can then use the
Disney Park Pass system to make your theme park reservations for your visit.
Robin, I hope you find this information helpful. You can always reach out to the Walt Disney World Resort at (407)-934-7639 and speak with a Cast Member if you have additional questions about your tickets.
Here's wishing you and your dad lots of Disney magic in your day today, Robin!
