When we were at Disney World over Thanksgiving in 2011 there were magic hours that went late into the night 1-2AM. We are going between Christmas and New Years 2013 and early Dec schedule doesn't show much in the evening. Will there be more magic hours

    Hi, Steven!

I’m so glad you’re planning another visit to the Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season! It’s one of my favorite times of year to visit Disney Parks because of all the seasonal decorations, attractions and delicious treats.

Extra Magic Hours are when the Walt Disney World theme parks are open an hour before or two hours after regular park operating hours for Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Guests. Taking advantage of this time is a great way to make the most of your vacation days, especially during periods when crowds are heaviest. I took a peek at the park hours and calendars for the week of your visit, and it looks like there will be Extra Magic Hours offered on every day of your visit, and in some cases at multiple parks in both the morning and evening. For example, Magic Kingdom Park is scheduled to stay open two hours later (until midnight) on December 27 and 30, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will stay open late on December 28 and 31. Some shops may stay open even past midnight.

Although the schedule has already been set, it is subject to change, and more Extra Magic Hours are sometimes added during busy seasons. Be sure to check the schedule online as your travel dates approach and inquire about the current park hours upon arrival at the resort.

I hope this helps, Steven, and that you have a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” this December! Please write back with any other questions you may have as your planning continues.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
