Never been to Disney World, how do I get started?

    Hi Misti,

How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! I am happy to help you think about first steps in planning your magical vacation.

I generally suggest that guests begin by watching the Walt Disney World planning video. This can start to give you some ideas of what you would like to experience while at Walt Disney World. If you can, have other adults and older children in your traveling party view it as well. I find that including everyone in the planning experience helps to ensure that everyone has a great time!

My first step in planning a Walt Disney World vacation is generally to choose a Walt Disney World resort hotel. While you may also choose to stay at a hotel not at Walt Disney World, I suggest that especially for your first trip that you do stay at a Walt Disney World hotel. This will give you easy access to theme parks, as well as perks reserved for Walt Disney World resort hotel guests such as Extra Magic Hours.

You can also start to consider if you would like to book a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, which can help you bundle items such as your room, tickets, and dining into one package; or if you would rather book these separately.

I know that this is a lot to think about, but I believe that following what I laid out above should help you to get started with your planning. You should also think about what time of year you would like to visit, and if you are flexible at all with the dates. I then suggest that you call Disney at 407-939-5277, where a cast member can help you to book your vacation.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Misti! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
