Hi we are going to Disney world in September and I was told now you can sign up to be part of the Darth Vader apprentice when entering the park instead of standing on the line is that true?

    Hi Debi!

I believe you are referring to the Jedi Training Academy (JTA). As I understand it, Disney's Hollywood Studios had so many people trying to have their child be a part of the JTA during Star Wars Weekend that they set up a temporary sign-up area outside of the park on certain days. That was only temporary.

If your child would like participate in the JTA, here is the inside scoop:
I spoke to one of the Cast Members at the JTA a few months ago and she gave me some great advice. She said that to have the best chance of your child being chosen to become a Padawan in one of the shows, you need to get to Hollywood Studios before it opens. When the park officially opens, go straight to the JTA stage (right beside Star Tours) and ask one of the Cast Members about signing up for one of the shows during the day. There are numerous shows daily! This is super important, your child must be present to be able to sign up to take part in the JTA.

I hope you and your family have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel! If you have more questions, we are always here to help!
