I am going to Disney World in September and want to know how to maximize my experience. I heard if we wanted to watch the fireworks that it is a separate charge/reservation is that true?

    Hiya, Daniel!

Welcome to planDisney! The fireworks at Walt Disney World Resort are dazzling, and not to be missed. The additions of Disney Enchantment and Harmonious have created a beautiful way to end your evening. These epic displays also feature projections and moving music. Harmonious takes it to another level with mesmerizing water displays in addition to a wonderfully lit night sky. I am happy to report that you do not need to pay a separate fee or make reservations for fireworks. Let's go over all your firework viewing options and what reservations are essential for your upcoming stay.

I'll start with reservations. You do not need to reserve a spot to view your favorite fireworks, but you will need a Park Pass reservation to enter any of the theme parks. All four parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. If you have not crossed this step off of your magical to-do list just yet, I recommend doing so as soon as possible. Some dates may offer limited availability due to popularity, so don't delay. Make your Park Pass reservations today!

Now that we have covered Park Pass reservations, it's time to get into maximizing that fireworks viewing experience. Nighttime spectaculars are a fabulous way to end the park day, and you will find that Guests will start making their way to their favorite viewing spots long before the projected start time. When you decide to start making your way to your preferred viewing location is a personal choice, but heading there well in advance will help you navigate your way with a little more ease. If you want to see fireworks and castle displays, the best spot to view Disney Enchantment is in front of Cinderella Castle. But if you prefer a smaller crowd and don't mind missing projections there are some incredible locations behind the castle that offer great views of fireworks (but no castle displays). If this is your first or only viewing, I highly recommend front and center for the full experience.

Views of Harmonious can be seen all around World Showcase. This show includes fountain displays, including one hard-to-miss large circle. The best views are the ones that offer a center viewing of the circle. If you can't find a spot that aligns with the circle, Hakuna Matata! This show is epic and if you are standing around the water at World Showcase you will still have beautiful views. Just avoid standing behind the trees! My pro tip is to grab a snack (or two) and head to your spot about 30 minutes prior to the start time. You will find the crowds get a little heavy in the minutes before the show, so securing a spot early will increase your chances of the center view. You can also purchase a special ticket for fireworks dessert parties (this may be the fee you heard about)! These special offerings include delicious menus and a reserved spot to view the fireworks.

I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
