Welcome to planDisney, Isis! It's an exciting time to be planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth; whether you're visiting during the upcoming summer months to take in the new
summer experiences at the resort, looking for fall fun as Disney Parks celebrates
Halfway to Halloween, or planning for another season, the magic is ready when you are!
Guests who require special assistance due to
mobility restrictions at the Walt Disney World Resort have several options to explore to make the magic more accessible! My parents frequently visit the theme parks and use electronic conveyance vehicles (scooters) to help them get around, so I'm happy to chat with you about the options for renting a device, as well as offer you some helpful tips they have shared with me from their own experiences!
Guests 18 years of age or older may
rent ECVs at Disney theme parks and water parks as well as at select locations in Disney Springs. Please note that these vehicles are available on a first-come, first-served basis and Guests cannot reserve them in advance. Because of this, many Guests prefer to rent from outside rental companies, and Disney even recommends a preferred partner company, Scooter Bug, for this service. If you will be staying as a Guest at Disney Resort Collections hotel and you rent through this preferred partner, the ECV can be left for you at your hotel on the day of your check-in so you will have length-of-stay access to the scooter during your vacation. This is my parents' preferred method for ease of getting around;
Disney transportation options like
Disney Bus Service,
Walt Disney World Monorail System, and
Disney Skyliner are all able to accommodate scooters to get you to and from your Disney Resort hotel and other resort destinations during your vacation. If you use another independent rental company, most of them will also deliver to your hotel, but will require you to be present for pick-up and return.
If you do prefer to rent daily from the parks, I would recommend arriving early so you have the best chance of securing an ECV rental. If there are not any available rentals, Disney also offers
wheelchair rentals for Guests as an additional option.
Isis, I hope this helps you to maneuver to and through the magic with ease! If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out again to us at

Magic and Memories,
