Hi Catherine!
Welcome to planDisney.
I think the Disney water parks are hidden gems! After the sometimes more exciting and faster-paced theme parks, something must be said about taking time out for relaxation at Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach (whichever is open). Yes, there's a lot of water fun, but there's also something rather lovely about relaxing on a beach chair to recharge.
Complimentary transport to
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is available from all Disney Resort hotels via Disney Springs, where you will transfer to another bus for the water park. The reverse route applies when you want to return to your hotel, so take a bus to Disney Springs and then another bus to any Disney Resort hotel. After a day at Typhoon Lagoon, I usually opt for a Lyft ride back to my hotel - it's just quicker and reasonably inexpensive - download the Lyft app to your phone and you'll see all the options available, along with all the different prices. The rideshare pickup point is just outside the entrance, to the right as you walk out of the park.
This cannot be guaranteed, but recently I have taken a bus from my hotel that stopped at Typhoon Lagoon en-route to Disney Springs, so please check with your Front Desk to see if this service is available.
If you are spending a whole day at the water park, you can upgrade your experience. You can reserve a
Typhoon Lagoon Umbrella (securing a shaded area with 4 chairs, small table and towels), or a
Beachcomber Shack (a larger private shaded area with comfortable seating for more people, a locker, cold water all day, refillable mugs and an attendant to take your orders for food and beverages for an additional charge). These reserved areas can be booked online, or when you arrive at the water park, and are available on a first come, first served basis, and you can see where they are located on this useful
Typhoon Lagoon guide map.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can
send me a direct question if you wish. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation at Walt Disney World!
