We will be at disney world from 12/ 6- 12/11. What parks should we visit of which days? We will have a 5 and 1yr old girls and a 2 yr old boy. Also, my daughter turns 5 on Dec 7th, so would love suggestions for something special to do for her that day.

Hi Shelley! Thanks so much for your question. I will be on my way down to Walt Disney World as you are leaving. The holiday season is my favorite time to visit Disney because I love all of the holiday decorations and the beautiful glittering Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle.

When I first start planning my vacations, I always check out the crowd calendars on The crowd calendars are a useful tool that predicts crowd levels in each park based on previous crowd data. In my experience the calendars have been accurate, so I always start the planning process by referring to them. Also, my family usually visits for 5 days at a time, and we do each park once and Magic Kingdom twice. With that in mind, this is how I would set up my days if I were traveling with you:

    Dec 6th - Magic Kingdom
    Dec 7th - Epcot
    Dec 8th - Magic Kingdom
    Dec 9th - Hollywood Studios
    Dec 10th - Animal Kingdom
    Dec 11th - Magic Kingdom

The way this is set up, you would be going to Magic Kingdom all on special event days where the park closes at 7 p.m. If you'd rather go on a more crowded day and stay to watch the fireworks, I suggest doing it on the 7th for your daughter's birthday. Speaking of, there are so many things you can do for your little princess. I suggest scheduling an appointment for a magical princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at either the Disney Springs or Magic Kingdom location, and make a reservation for a birthday meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall or Cinderella's Royal Table. If you do end up staying all day on the 7th at Magic Kingdom, the Wishes Fireworks Desert Party is a great way to top off her special night with sweets and a great view.

Im sure if you asked each one of us here on the panel this same question, you'd get very different responses, and it's all up to you how you plan your vacation. I hope this has been of some help, and if you need anything else, please ask! Have a magical vacation!
