My family and I have enjoyed numerous trips to
Walt Disney World using the
Disney Dining Plan. It was always so convenient to have everything paid for ahead of time. It also made the trip much less stressful when it comes to budgeting and money. I got to be a yes mom. You want a snack, sure let's pick one out! The steak on the menu for dinner, why not! It was great!
At this time, Eleanor, the Disney Dining Plan has not yet returned to us since the shut down in 2020. The good news is we do know that it is more than likely going to eventually return. Several months back the
Disney Parks Blog released an article letting fans know that they've heard the outcry of love and support for the Disney Dining Plan and at that time they were sure we would see it back eventually. They just weren't able to share a release date with us. That's kind of the last update that we've had. I do think we are moving in a good direction though. A lot of Walt Disney World restaurants have reopened and now a dinner show is planning on making its return this summer. Those are all good things in terms of the Disney Dining Plan coming back.
If the Disney Dining Plan does return before your Walt Disney World vacation in December, I am certain you'll be able to add it on to your vacation package. Previously, Guests had up to 48 hours prior to their check-in day to add it on and I think we will see it like this again. Until then, Eleanor, I suggest picking up
Disney Gift Cards for budgeting for food during your most magical vacation. You can find them at most major retailers. I like to add a small one to my grocery cart each week. It doesn't add a lot to my bill and I am always surprised at how quickly they add up. This is similar to the Disney Dining Plan because the money is already taken from your account and has to be used for something at Walt Disney World.
