I am going to Disney World in October and I was just wondering whether it would be better to stay at Disney. We were considering not staying there but it says you get free transport around Disney. I thought the normal tickets gave you that??

Hi Tara - Park hopper tickets do allow you to take Disney transportation when you are at the parks.  But, if you stay off premises, you still have to get from the airport to your resort, and from your resort to Walt Disney World.

One of the biggest benefits to staying at the Walt Disney World properties is the ability to go without a car.  With the Magical Express, you get free transportation (including luggage service - it you arrive before 10pm, you won't even have to grab your luggage to take with you), to and from Orlando International Airport.  Then, once you are at the park, you can use Disney transportation to travel throughout Walt Disney World.

My family usually stays at Walt Disney World because we like going car free, but we also like the other benefits, such as the option to purchase the Disney Dining plan, and Extra Magic Hours.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation in October.
