We will be at Disney World October 31-November 12. We will be attending the MNSSHP on the 31st. I will be making the kids costumes. Do you suggest long or short sleeve costumes for the party? Thanks. Any suggestions will help!

    Hi, Amanda!

Welcome back to Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Your visit to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park will be even better because you'll experience it on Halloween Night!

Although temperatures vary from year to year, Walt Disney World's average high on Halloween is 81; the average low is 61 degrees. As such, I would make the kids' costumes with either short sleeves or sleeves that can easily be pushed or rolled up, should they get too warm.

Although Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party festivities do not officially get underway until 7 p.m., guests with tickets may enter Magic Kingdom as early at 4 p.m. The Florida sun will likely keep the temps close to 80, and that will not cool down until much later in the evening. Keep in mind, too, that you'll spend most of your time trick-or-treating, watching Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show, all of which take place in the heart of Magic Kingdom. The only time you'll be out in breezy, open spaces is if you take a boat to a nearby resort hotel.

Just in case, I also always have a plain, long-sleeve T-shirt to layer under my kids' costumes (in a costume-appropriate color, of course) should temps become cooler than we expect on Halloween.

Have so much fun planning your Halloween tour of Walt Disney World, Amanda! Send more questions as you think of them; we love to help!
