Hello! We will be in Disney World October 18-26, 2014. I want to book the Pirates League for my boys, ages 5 and 8, and do the Pirate and Pals Firework Voyage that night. What is the best time to do the Pirate League? What days and time is the Voyage?

    Ahoy There Kimberly!

Sounds like it be a pirates life ye be seeking. The Pirates League and The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage (P&P) is the perfect combination for little buccaneers.

I try to give my boys time to enjoy their pirate makeovers without totally wearing it off before P&P. The make-up usually stays on pretty well if they don't rub their faces a lot but your mileage may vary depending on your boys. We usually plan for a trip to the Pirates League early afternoon just after lunch. That way they can participate in the Parade of Pirates in Adventureland (usually around 4 p.m. but they will confirm on the date of your visit) and Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial looking their pirate best.

P&P typically sails Friday through Monday evenings and begins one hour and 15 minutes prior to whenever the fireworks are scheduled. You can find the schedule during your trip by clicking on the link provided above. Once you reach that page, you'll see the time for the current date and a small calendar icon. Click on that and select a date (Friday - Monday) during your visit and it should bring up the time. They usually put the calendar up about 180 days in advance so October is not posted yet.

I like to plan on eating dinner before we head over to P&P. They do serve snack type foods but I like to get a real meal in my boys if we can. We usually do a quick service meal for dinner. Too much planning in one day can be too much for little guys.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. It is our pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
