Hi Frances, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I just adore visiting Walt Disney World when
holiday pixie dust is in the air, and there are so many merry and magical decorations and festivities all around the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs.
The iconic gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa gives me chills every time – and it smells amazing! My family stayed there the first week in November last year, and we were lucky enough to
watch the house being built. We loved checking in on its progress every day as we walked through the lobby on the way to the monorail, and we even got to meet the pastry chefs and artists working on the house and taste some samples of the gingerbread shingles.
When we left, the house was almost finished, so if they're on the same timeline this year, you'll hopefully be in luck - I've got my fingers crossed for you! Honestly, even if it's still in construction, it's absolutely worth a visit to check it out. As you get closer to your visit, keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for updates and all the latest dispatches from Mickey and his merry-making pals.
Frances, did you know that
gingerbread creations pop up around several of the resorts? One of my favorites is the gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort. I also love touring all the resorts to see their Christmas trees, which are packed with Disney details and theming to match that of their resort. Don't miss the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail either!
Wishing you a merry and magical vacation,
Robyn
