Greetings, Bridgette!
Welcome to planDisney and ‘Tis the Season! My home is currently transitioning from Halloween decorations to fall, although internally, I am ready to bring out my Mickey Mouse stockings.
The best news is you’ll also get the chance to see Walt Disney World in its
holiday best, even with arriving closer to the New Year. Please take a moment to explore the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. It is magically enchanting! A family favorite is the Cookie Stroll. We usually grab one and split it so that we can try one of every flavor that's a part of the trail.
As far as fun things to do around the resort, I recommend keeping your eyes on the
Disney Parks Blog. That is where you can find the most up-to-date information on all things Disney. Hopefully, some news, or maybe even delicious offerings, will be shared there as the New Year approaches. Another thing you can do is check the information boards around your resort hotel once you arrive. You can usually find pop-up stands that are about three feet tall around the resort. On those boards, you can find different events and their times that are happening around your resort.
Another great option would be to plan for an evening dinner at a different resort. I recommend ringing in the New Year with dinner at
‘Ohana or
Steakhouse 71. Then you could end the evening with a ride on the
Monorail around the other resorts. My husband would much rather spend the evening under the twinkling lights at the
Boardwalk, so dinner in that area would also be a great idea.
Ale & Compass would be my pick if the Boardwalk is where you would rather be.
Bridgette, I hope this helps with some fun ideas to celebrate the New Year with. In the meantime, keep up with the Disney Parks Blog, and if there's anything else we can help with, you know where to find us.
Magical Memories,
Shantel
