I will be in Disney World with a 15 month old. We would like to do a character meal... any suggestions?

Lori, you are going to have the best time experiencing the parks through your child's eyes! At that age, their innocence and wonder are so special to watch. I think he/she would love a character meal to get some fun individual interaction with the characters.

Chef Mickey's is one of my favorites for many reasons. It is probably one of the best buffets, in my opinion. The other great reason to choose this one is that you will meet the Fab 5 (as they are often referred to), Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Pluto! The atmosphere is not too shabby, either, with some (not all) tables having a view of the monorails passing through the lobby of the Contemporary. My next suggestion is the Play 'n Dine at Hollywood & Vine. This character meal features favorites from Disney Junior. If you child is a fan of this popular channel, he/she will enjoy rubbing elbows with Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Handy Manny or Special Agent Oso. Lastly, is Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. This, too, has an amazing buffet and location is prime being right at Magic Kingdom. Here you will find Pooh andTigger from Hundred Acre Wood. These cuddly stars are also favorites among the tiny tots.

Keep in mind that really young children can often be a little trepidatious of the sometimes larger than life characters. So, I often get my kids really familiar with certain characters prior to going, so they have the recognition factor as they approach. The characters are also very good at reading the situation and judging their approach to your table. They will often go up to a parent first and let your child see how you react to them. Many times they will not lead with a giant hug to an unsuspecting toddler! Also, characters are subject to change without notice. So, while those mentioned above are typically present at those restaurants, there could be minor changes to the character line-up!

Enjoy those precious memories that will certainly last a lifetime!
