Hi! Will be in disney world MK 2 days, Ep 1day, AK day. Would love any advice/tips you have for a family of four, specifically things that are best for a 5 year old & a 6 year old. Character dining? Shows that we made tickets for?

Your trip is right around the corner, Dawn. You must be getting so excited! It sounds like you're off to a great start with your itinerary. I'm happy to tailor some recommendations to your family, but first, I have to direct your attention to these super great tips on building the excitement as your family counts down the days to your trip.

Alright, let's get started at Magic Kingdom, shall we? I can tell you that you'll want to keep an eye out for the fun (and unscheduled) character cavalcades that take place along the parade route daily. Your kids will be wide-eyed with wonder as they wave to favorite familiar faces. As far as attractions, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin will likely be big hits with your kiddos. Oh, and don't pass up Gaston's Tavern, my kids are huge fans of the sippable LeFou's Brew beverage available there.

When you make your way to Epcot, you must experience Soarin' Around the World, it's located in the Future World area of Epcot and it is an unforgettable attraction. As you visit the pavilions in the World Showcase during your Epcot day, definitely plan to stop in at the Kidcot Fun Stops, too. Luckily, your trip occurs during the Taste of Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. That's a treat for all ages. And since you asked about character dining, I'm happy to pass along a personal favorite: Garden Grill Restaurant. If you go, your family will dine in a rotating restaurant while some favorite character friends parade around.

Over at Disney's Animal Kingdom, you're going to want to check out Pandora - The World of Avatar. It'll feel like you've stepped onto another planet. The Pongu Lumpia from Pongu Pongu is a yummy treat and Satu'li Canteen is a sure bet for some bowl-style good eats, though lots of kids prefer the unique Cheeseburger Steamed Pods on the menu at this fast casual restaurant. Also, don't miss Kilimanjaro Safaris

I hope these tips have you even more excited about your vacation, Dawn. Let us know if we can help further!

Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
