We are going to Disney World in mid February and staying in the park at Disney's Port Orleans Resort. Our daughter will be a month shy from 4 years old. I know nothing and need any and all advice!!! Best parks, food, ANY advice?

    Hi Chelsea,

Congratulations on your very first visit with your little princess! You have come to the right place for vacation planning tips for Walt Disney World. As a mother of four children myself, I can assure you that you are about to experience some truly magical and unforgettable moments with your family.

My first piece of advice is to check out the information in this link for Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones and be sure to download the Pre-School Parent's Guide to Walt Disney World Resort located in the link. This link contains many helpful tips and fun facts for preschool parents planning their next adventure.

Another tip for you is to make your initial FastPass+ selections as soon as you are within your  FastPass+  booking window. Some selections are more popular than others, so making your choices early will be helpful in assuring your choice of FastPass+ selections will still be available. You may still visit any of the attractions for which you do not have FastPass+ selections, however you will use the standby queue in those instances.

I also find most children absolutely love experiencing Character Dining. Use the link I've provided to enter your vacation dates and search for some fun dining experiences!  When my children were pre-school ages their favorite character dining meals were buffet style dining. As a parent I also loved how the characters visited each table individually while the children ate their meal. It's a win-win!
