    Hi! We are going to Disney World on March 1 - 6. I have Asthma and severe nerve damage in my legs which makes it hard to walk far, climb stairs and stand for long periods of time. I have a handicap tag and ID card. Will this be enough to get a GAC?

    Hi Erica!  Welcome to the Moms Panel.  You must be looking forward to your Walt Disney World vacation - not too long now!  You'll find that acquiring a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) is a very simple process. You will need to go to Guest Relations at any of the four theme parks to obtain your pass.  They will ask you a few questions to insure that you qualify for a GAC, and then will issue the appropriate pass. When arriving at an attraction, show your pass to the Cast Member at the entrance and they will direct you from there. Having a GAC does not give you "front of the line" access.  Instead it offers you an alternate entrance or waiting area, minimizing the standing or walking you would normally have.  You will be able to take up to five guests along with you.

    While you are at Guest Relations, you may want to pick up the Guide For Guests With Disabilities.  There is one for each park, and along with the regular park map, it has additional information for guests in wheelchairs, or who need assistance in some way.  They are very helpful!
