I have a Disney World magic band (not a +) from previous trip. How can I tell if it still has battery power and can it be used in Disney Land? If it can be used how can I link my Disney tickets that have hopper and genie+ for the 4 days we will be there.

    Hiya Teresa!

You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thanks so much for stopping by with another vacation planning question - I'm happy to help! I'm so excited to hear you're planning a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. My Walt Disney World Resort-loving family had the chance to visit Disneyland Resort last summer and we were blown away by the experience. In fact, we're already planning our next trip!

Teresa, at this time, previous versions of MagicBands (MagicBand or MagicBand 2) cannot be used at Disneyland Resort. However, I encourage you to check out the new MagicBand+, which is compatible at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort! At Disneyland Resort, MagicBand+ will offer many of the same conveniences that you're familiar with from using MagicBands at Walt Disney World Resort, like entering the theme parks, linking your Disney PhotoPass photos, and checking in for Lightning Lane entry selections. MagicBand+ is available on shopDisney and in many shops across Disneyland Resort. Once you've purchased a MagicBand+, you'll be able to link it to your Disney account. The setup process will allow you to link your MagicBand+ to your theme park admission, and you'll have the option of pairing it with a smartphone to use in conjunction with the Disneyland mobile app. I recommend charging your MagicBand+ completely before using it for a fun-filled day in the theme parks!

I hope this information is useful to you as you continue to plan an unforgettable vacation! During your visit, be sure to check out all of the exciting entertainment offerings which recently debuted for the Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort, like World of Color - ONE and Wondrous Journeys. I'm wishing your Club of Mouseketeers a most magical and memorable visit to Disneyland Resort, Teresa. If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to drop by planDisney again anytime. We're all ears!

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
