Disney Mom Kay is in WDW this week, and she has been keeping us posted on the weather. Yep, lots of rain! But it hasn't slowed them down - don't let it slow you down either!
The Disney parks pretty much keep rolling even in the rain. I suggest you go to a discount store and pick-up several rain ponchos (I know my "dollar store" has a pack with 2 ponchos. I like to just toss them out and use a new one the next day.) Pack your umbrellas, too!
I also like to pack coloring books and crayons along with a few Disney books in case you are in your room more than you originally planned. One great thing about staying on property is the TV choices - lots of Disney Channel favorites, story time, and previews of what you will see in the park. Check out the
Children's Activity Centers and see if you can reserve a few hours for your 4 year old. The centers are a huge hit with kids!
Give the parks a try, even in the rain. There are many indoor attractions and hopefully you will see shorter lines. Wear shoes that will dry quickly (Crocs or flip flops) and make sure to have extra shoes packed in your suitcase.
If you need a break from the rain but want to leave your room, you can go see a movie at Downtown Disney. This is a great way to spend an afternoon! Or, go visit Grand Floridian. Grab a bite to eat, enjoy the shops, and just relax in the beatiful lobby area. There are these cute mini-sized sofas with a TV that your princess might enjoy!
One bit of advice: take pictures! I have some great shots of my kids from 2 years ago in Hollywood Studios splashing in the puddles in their cute little ponchos. They still talk about that trip!
I hope you find some magic behind those rain clouds! Have a wonderful vacation!
