We are going to Disney World with a large group, some of which will want to enter the parks at different times or choose different lightning lanes rides, but we have booked the trip under one reservation. Is it possible for to have multiple phones in use?

Welcome to planDisney, Alyssa. I'm so happy to answer your first question to us. Keep them coming!

The Walt Disney World Resort is a wonderful place to take a large group. The biggest reason? There is just so much to do, and there's something that will appeal to everyone. Thrills can be defined in so many different ways, and they are all at the resort! Want a high-speed thrill? They've got them. Want a slower, more classic attraction whose nostalgic thrills will make your heart flutter? They've got them. And the best part is that while everyone can branch off and do what they'd like, there are those experiences that everyone can enjoy together as well...and delicious restaurants for everyone to gather around a table and share stories of an amazing day.

Each Guest 13 years of age or older can have their own MyDisney Account. This means that they can use their device with the My Disney Experience mobile app while they're at the resort to view plans, make plans, scan tickets, and so much more! As long as everyone is connected through the My Family & Friends list and has given access to see each other's plans, absolutely more than one phone can be in use at a time! In fact, it's encouraged. Plus, you can purchase Disney Bands and link them to each Guest to allow them to tap into Lightning Lane reservations, charge items back to your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room, and even tap into the parks. As an alternative, you can also ask for cards for each Guest, sometimes referred to as "Key to the World" cards, at a Guest Relations location outside of the parks, which will also achieve many of the same purposes!

So, if you're ready, let's do this:

    • Log into your MyDisney Account and click on "My Family & Friends" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu.
    • To connect with someone new, click "Add a Guest." From here, you can search for them, find a Guest from a hotel reservation, or add a new Guest who doesn't currently have a MyDisney account.
    • Once you've followed the prompts and they've connected with you, go back to the My Family & Friends list and click the "Settings" button next to their name. You'll want to toggle on the "Allow to view all of your plans" option and have them do the same.
I find allowing everyone to see each other's plans works out really well when planning with a large group. If you're thinking of all doing an attraction together, you'll be able to see if there are any conflicting plans and only select the Guests that will be available. It just takes a lot of the guesswork out of it. For example, you don't have to ask if everyone will be available at 4 p.m. for a ride on Frozen Ever After because you'll see who is...and will only select them!

Alyssa, enjoy your vacation, and be sure to reach out again if you have any other questions!

Listen with your heart, you will understand,
    Matt
