We are going to Disney World in July and I was wondering we have booked character meals every day and sometimes twice in one day. My kids are 21, 20 and my granddaughter is 5. Do you think that it is to much too have so many? We are there 7 days.

    Hi there Margaret!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip!  Is there such a thing as too many character meals?  In all seriousness, a lot depends on your family's preferences.  Character meals are a great addition to any Disney vacation.  In addition to adding to the magic and whimsy of a trip, they feature great food, and a wonderful "break" from the heat of a Central Florida summer.  We actually tend to book more table service (including character meals) reservations during summer trips, when an air-conditioned restaurant affords a much needed mid-day break from 90 degree heat.  My kids never get sick of the characters, love the food and enjoy the reprieve as much as we do.  I might recommend "mixing up" what meals you include with characters (lunch at Crystal Palace works great during a hot day at the Magic Kingdom, for example, and a day at Animal Kingdom is super fun when it starts with breakfast with Donald at Tusker House.)

Many of the character meals are buffet-style and offer a huge variety of foods and desserts that are likely to appeal to a wide variety of appetites.  This makes them a great choice for families, with or without the added perk of hanging out with Disney superstars.  In addition, we find the buffets to be a great value, as soft drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts are all included in one price.

In short, if you have secured reservations for a number of character meals, I'd say, go for it!  Oh, and say hi to Mickey for me!
