Hello Stephanie, and welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by to get some help with planning your
Walt Disney World vacation. It sounds like you’ve got an exciting start to the new year ahead, and I’m happy to help you make the most of your time in the parks.
In terms of holiday decorations, you’ll likely still catch some festive sights during your visit from January 1-8. Generally, the Christmas decorations begin coming down after the busy holiday season wraps up, usually around the first week of January. However, the process is gradual, and many decorations often remain up in the parks for the first week of the new year. In fact, my own family vacations have fallen during the second week of January recently, and on our most recent visit, the holiday decorations in the parks were still up, creating that winter wonderland atmosphere. However, the decorations at the resorts seemed to be taken down fairly quickly, I was hoping to see the famous gingerbread house at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, but it had already been dismantled. So, there's a good chance you'll still experience some holiday magic, especially in the parks.
As you get ready for your trip, I’d love to assist you with other planning tips, from how to make the most of your
Lightning Lane reservations to choosing which Disney snacks to enjoy during your adventure. Whether it’s advice on park strategies or recommendations for
must-try treats, I’m always here to help.
Don’t hesitate to reach out again as you prepare for your visit to The Most Magical Place On Earth!
Cheers to the new year!
