Hi Katie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I also have a family of five. Traveling with young children and a baby means extra luggage, bottles, diapers, and the need for some extra refrigerator space. Staying in a family suite in my opinion will allow you all of the comforts of home. Whenever we look to travel one of my top priorities is finding a place to stay that will accommodate all five of us comfortably. There is nothing worse than coming back to an extra small hotel room after a long day. Before our third baby came along, we often would stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. Once our daughter came along however we quickly realized that we needed more space.
Our new favorite resort is
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. This Resort hotel is geared towards families just like yours and mine! Each family suite can accommodate parties of up to six people. Each family suite includes a bedroom with a queen-size bed, one double-size sleeper sofa, one double-size convertible TableBed, a kitchenette, living room, and best of all 2 bathrooms! Want to know what the best part is in my opinion?! Well it is considered a VALUE resort so for us more budget conscious families the price on this just can’t be beat.
My kids love that they can stay in a place that is themed after some of their favorite movies. Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and my favorite The Little Mermaid are the themes that you can choose from! The main pool is actually the largest pool at the Walt Disney World Resort and it has some really neat features. Lastly, Landscape of Flavors is the dining area and it offers something that even my pickiest eater can enjoy.
In my opinion this Resort hotel is my top choice for those with a family of five.
