    Going to Disney World for the first time with my two daughters and husband. What would recommend for resort, Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter?

    Hi, Shannon!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    I am so excited to hEAR that you are planning your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  I truly think there is something great about every Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, and you are going to love all of the benefits that come from staying right in the middle of the magic.  

    I really don't think you can go wrong with either of the resort hotels that you mentioned.  However, I must confess that Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is one of my favorite places to stay when I visit the Walt Disney World Resort.  In comparison to other Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is rather small.  This small size results in lighter crowds on the theme park buses, as well as at the pool and food court.  The quaint cobblestone streets create a peaceful atmosphere where you can relax after the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.  Another big plus to staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter is, undoubtedly, the delicious beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.

    Although I prefer the small size of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, I must say that Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is an absolutely gorgeous resort hotel.  Like its sister resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside evokes a peaceful southern charm.  At Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, guests have some unique options when it comes to accommodations, such as the Royal Guest Rooms.  These rooms were refurbished in regal style by Princess Tiana, and they are truly fit for royalty.  Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside also provides guests with a larger selection of dining options, including both Table-Service and Quick-Service restaurants.
