Hello. We are going to Disney World for the first time in March without our adult children who normally manage dining reservations. How do we best assure we get to dine at our favorites and some new offerings. We are flexible to dine later as needed.

Hello There! Welcome to planDisney, MaryLou! I am so glad you stopped by with such a fabulous question.

Oh my goodness, your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation will be here before you know it, so I'm glad to hear you are already starting to think about making Advanced Dining Reservations! Let's be honest; the food is always the best part of any vacation, isn't it? But, of course, that goes double when it comes to all of the delicious culinary creations available throughout Walt Disney World!

MaryLou, making an Advanced Dining Reservation is as easy as can be using the My Disney Experience App. You may book dining reservations 60 days in advance of your visit starting at 6:00 a.m. by following these steps:

    • Open the My Disney Experience App.
    • Click the "+" on the bottom of the screen.
    • Select "Check Dining Availability."
    • Once there, you will set your party size, the date you are looking for and the time of day you would like to dine.
    • You can then browse through the available restaurants and times and follow the steps to complete your reservation.

If you're staying at one of the many fabulous Disney Resort hotels, you have the added benefit of being able to book Advanced Dining Reservations for the entire length of your stay (up to 10 days from your scheduled check-in), making it even easier to book a table at your favorite spots. How awesome is that?

Now, don't lose faith if you're having difficulty finding an available time for your preferred restaurants. Just keep checking the My Disney Experience App in the days ahead of your trip when availability often opens up as cancellations come through. I've grabbed some fantastic last-minute reservations this way, so it's definitely worth checking in periodically to see what pops up!

MaryLou, I just know you will have an absolute blast on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World. We planDisney foodies LOVE to talk about our favorite snacks and meals available throughout Walt Disney World, so visit again soon if you'd like to hear some of our recommendations!

    Bon Appétit!
