We are going to Disney World for the first time as a family at the end of October for MNSSH Party. Any suggestions for the a kida and somewhat fun budget friendly dining experience that's close by or in Magic Kingdom?

Oh, Stacy, your family is going to love Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!  My suggestions to make the most out of the experience for your kids:

    • Make sure they dress up!  Adults in the party should consider doing so, too!  I thought my kids would be embarrassed to hang out with a costumed mom and dad, but they actually love the fact that we all dress up together.
    • Take time to watch both the parade and fireworks.  Neither should be missed!
    • Plan to eat dinner prior to the party's 7:00 start time so that you don't waste a minute of your precious party time.
    • Look for the trick-or-treat locations (on the map or as designated by the giant glowing Goofy's Candy Co "balloons") and be sure to visit them!
If you're looking for a unique dining experience close to the Magic Kingdom, I'd suggest 'Ohana, though it might be a budget-buster.  If that's the case perhaps Cosmic Ray's inside the park would be more in-line with your budget.  It's a counter service location serving up familiar favorites.  The fun factor is that Sonny Eclipse (an alien entertainer) plays the piano for guests.

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
