Disney World is the first stop for us on our vacation and I am concerned about the hold that my Disney Resort will put on my cc for charging priviledges , and if it will cause problems for later parts of my vacation. (ie the hold not coming off quickly)

Hi Jennifer, this is a great question.

I went straight to reservations for an answer, because I know how important it will be for you to have your credit card for the rest of your vacation.

Reservations tells me that when it comes to charging privileges, you can arrange with the front desk staff (when you check in) a maximum amount for charging privileges.  Say you want a $200 limit - then that is the amount they will put on 'hold'.  Note that once you spend the $200, the resort will then place ANOTHER $200 hold on your account - so it is up to you to keep track of how much is being charged.

When you check out and pay the final amount, your card is processed and they immediately remove any hold amounts - so you are free to use your card without worrying.

    Have a fantastic holiday!

Walt Disney World stole my heart when my parents introduced me to the magic the year it opened. I fondly remember my first 'Mickey Mouse in a Glass House' balloon! I still visit with my parents-and now with my husband and our two teens. Learn More About Lynn
