Hi, Carol! Welcome back to planDisney!
I'm glad that I have the opportunity to chat with you today about
fireworks because they're one of my favorite things in all of
Walt Disney World Resort! There's nothing quite like viewing
Happily Ever After from inside
Magic Kingdom Park where you can take in the amazing lightning effects on Cinderella Castle. However, sometimes it's nice to watch the show in a more relaxing environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the park.
Disney's Contemporary Resort offers spectacular views of Happily Ever After.
Celebration at the Top - Sip, Savor, Sparkle is a cocktail party hosted atop Disney's Contemporary Resort on select nights. Drinks, small bites, and desserts are included in the price of this event, as is a viewing of the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks from a private observation deck.
Dining at
California Grill is another option for Guests wishing to view the fireworks from the top of Disney's Contemporary Resort. If you can time your dining reservation right, you may be able to watch the show right from your California Grill table. The lights are dimmed in the restaurant and the soundtrack is also played, so this is a lovely viewing experience. Guests dining at California Grill also have the option to head to the restaurant's observation deck to take in the show if they prefer.
If you're unable to book a California Grill reservation that coincides with the fireworks, just hold on to the receipt from your meal. Guests dining earlier in the evening simply need to show their same-day receipt to the Cast Member at the check-in podium shortly before the fireworks begin, and they will be permitted to return to the restaurant to view the fireworks from the observation deck.
If neither of these options works out for you, there is also an observation deck off the fourth-floor lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort that is open to the public. The Happily Ever After soundtrack is piped in on this observation deck as well. While the view here is not quite as good as from the top of the resort, it's still a great place to watch the show. You'll also find some wonderful fireworks viewing spots nearby at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa if you happen to be visiting either of these resort hotels.
Carol, I hope that this information is helpful as you plan for your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Have a magical day!
Samantha
