MagicBand+ pairing with Smart Phone; Minnie Mouse band

    We are going to Disney World Feb 2025. The whole family has MagicBand2 except our youngest who I am looking to pre-order one for now. Is there potential for the MagicBand2 being phased before we go next year or will we be able to use the others we have?

     Welcome to planDisney, Bryn. I'm so glad you stopped by! As a fellow Pennsylvanian, I am on board with your plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort next February. What a perfect time to escape the dreary, gray winter we experience!

     I'm a big fan of MagicBand and MagicBand+. These Disney vacation accessories aren't just cute, they're super functional! You ask a great question about your current MagicBand2. While there's been no official announcement about this version of MagicBand being phased out, they are becoming less and less available at retail locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort and on shopDisney.com. That said, they're still completely functional at the theme parks and Disney Resort hotels! I personally prefer the fit of my MagicBand over that of my MagicBand+, so I hope I can continue to use it for our 2025 visit, but it's unfortunately too early to tell. My best advice is to hold off on pre-ordering the MagicBand+ for your youngest for now. As a Guest of the Disney Resorts Collection, you can only place one order for MagicBand+ at the pre-arrival price. I would hate for you to place an order for your youngest, come to find you need additional MagicBand+, and then no longer be able to take advantage of that pre-arrival discount. 

     In the meantime, be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog. It's your best resource for news and updates about Disney Parks and destinations! If there's an official announcement about MagicBands being phased out, you'll hear it there.
