Hi we are going to Disney World Feb. 2016 for my daughters 8th birthday. We have special plans to celebrate for her birthday but we wanted to do something for my son also. He will be 9Y when we go. We do have Jedi training on our list. What else can we do?

    Hello, Shealynn!

It sounds like you are planning a very memorable vacation for your family! There are many things that you can do to include your son in the celebration. I'd start with something simple - like adding a special dining experience with your son's favorite Disney Characters - and add in other activities, like Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. I'm happy to share a few ideas to help you get started!

If you choose to play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, you can let your son be the keeper of the cards as you discover a new side of Magic Kingdom Park. This interactive adventure is perfect for the whole family, and your children can take turns choosing a card for each challenge.

If the pirate's life is the life for your little matey, I'd recommend making a reservation for The Pirate's League at Magic Kingdom Park. Captain Jack's Pirate Masters are on deck to tell tales and teach young pirates how to join the ranks. If your daughter is a big pirate or mermaid fan too, your children can both be surprised with special makeovers and lessons at this popular attraction. Please note that reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance.

You mentioned that you will sign your young Padawan up for Jedi Training Academy at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and I think this is a really wonderful idea! If you would like to further add to his Star Wars experience, you can take him for a ride on Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. As you exit this attraction, stop by the Build-Your-Own-Lightsaber station in Tatooine Traders to make a fun and unique souvenir.

I hope you and your family have a magical Walt Disney World celebration, Shealynn! If you have any more questions before your trip, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning!
