Hey there, hi there, Sean!
Thanks for stopping by
planDisney, where you're always as welcome as can be. I'd be happy to assist a fellow Mouseketeer today! Let's talk about acquiring the
new Lightning Lane Passes.
As offsite guests, your brother and his wife can secure Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass 3 days before their theme park days, even if you (an onsite guest) reserve them via My Family & Friends. Beginning seven days before your
Disney Resort check-in date, you can book Lightning Lane Passes for the length of stay for anyone onsite in your My Family & Friends list.
I know this is not ideal if your entire party wants to stick together in the theme parks, so I have a few ideas for you. First, if it is within the maximum capacity in your room, consider adding your brother and his wife to your resort reservation. In addition to advance Lightning Lane booking, they'd be eligible for perks like
Early Theme Park Entry and
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours if your resort qualifies. Alternatively, if having identical Lightning Lane return times is critical, you could wait until the three-day window opens to purchase Lightning Lane Passes for the entire group. Once the new system debuts, it will be easier to know when and if certain attractions will "sell out." To understand what to expect for your trip, check the
My Disney Experience mobile app a few weeks after the July 24 launch date to see which experiences are available a day or two in advance.
I hope this is helpful, Sean! Best wishes for a fantastic family getaway this October. Stay tuned to
our Instagram account and the
Disney Parks Blog to see what spooky surprises await as we head into fall. Thanks again for sending your question to planDisney, and have a magical day!
