We are going to Disney World and are SO excited....we were able to make dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's at 7:55pm on Jan 27th...any chance we can see the fireworks from the Contemporary while we eat or make the Electric Water Parade following?

Hi Laurie!  You must be so excited as your Walt Disney World vacation is right around the corner!

On January 27th, the Magic Kingdom's fireworks display, Wishes, lights up the sky at 8:00 pm after you have already been seated at Chef Mickey's.  Unfortunately, Chef Mickey's faces away from the Magic Kingdom, so even though you may hear the shells bursting, you will not be able to see the fireworks from within the restaurant.

There IS a fireworks viewing / observation deck located on the same floor as Chef Mickey's, but on the opposite side of the building.  I would say, you could sneak over there to see a few minutes of Wishes before eating, but you would be missing visits with characters who work on a strict rotation.

The good news is, when you finish up dining with Chef Mickey and pals, you should head out to that observation deck I mentioned to watch the Electrical Water Pageant!  On January 27th, this showing of lights should make its way to the Contemporary Resort at around 10:05 (weather permitting)

If you happen to finish dinner with time to spare, be sure to check out Fantasia and Bay View Gifts, 2 unique shopping experiences located on the 4th floor near Chef Mickey's.  This is the perfect way to kill a little time before heading out to watch the Electrical Water Pageant!

I hope you have a pixie dusted Walt Disney World vacation!  Let us know if we here at the Moms Panel can be of further assistance! -Amanda
