I am going to Disney World at the end of April 2014. My niece, who is 12, is travelling with us. She would like to be able to "pay" for things on her own. Can she use Disney Gif Certificates to pay for purchases she may wish to make.

    Hi Melana,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  My daughter also loves to "pay" for her purchases at Walt Disney World herself.  Paying for their own purchases can make kids feel really grown-up, and can also help them to learn to budget their money.

I suggest that you purchase a Disney Gift Card for your niece.  You can buy these at many places, including your local Disney Store or online at disneygiftcard.com.  You can also wait to purchase the card until you arrive at Walt Disney World, where they are available in many of the stores and merchandise locations.  A really fun feature of the Disney Gift Card is that you can choose from many designs, so depending on which characters your niece enjoys, she can have a card that shows her Disney Side!  She can then use her Disney Gift Card for her purchases at Walt Disney World.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Melana.  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
