I will be in Disney World in early May and just found out it’s the same time as the Summit Cheerleading competition. I have read that crowds are usually low this time of year but will the competition affect crowd levels?

Hello Caitlin and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Early May is a great time to visit Walt Disney World. Not only are the crowds typically very manageable, but the weather is often at its best. My family has visited the parks at times when various athletic competitions have been occurring at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, including cheer competitions.  The only times we have actually noticed a significant difference in crowds has been during runDisney events. You may see cheer teams throughout the parks and may even spot a few of them practicing chants, but I don't think you will find that to have a negative impact on your trip.

I hope that reassures you that you have selected a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort.

    See ya real soon,
    Anne
