    We have been to Disney World during all the seasons, but this June will be our first time going in the summer. We will have an 8 year old and an 11 year old. It will be hot so what will be the best stuff to pack? 55 more days! So excited!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Lisa!

    I love that you are counting down the days! The summer months in Orlando are hot but not unbearable if you plan right. Here's what I'd suggest:

    * Wear light colors as they help reflect the heat. Dark colors absorb the heat.
    * Wear clothes made out of light, breathable materials. While Cotton is lightweight, it absorbs moisture so it will weigh you down when you sweat. Being a runner, I've found that moisture-wicking fabrics that are used in a lot of the sports clothing lines work great in the parks. They are lightweight, breathe and dry quickly.
    * We avoid tank tops and spaghetti straps during the day - protect your shoulders.
    * Pack sunglasses, hats and visors to protect your head, ears and face.
    * Sunscreen - apply and reapply often.
    * Moisturizing lotion and Aloe. You'll need to take care of your skin after being in the sun and heat all day.
    * Comfortable shoes. Make sure you also pack a pair of sandals or flip flops to wear if its raining.
    * Ponchos - get the lightweight kind with vents in them or you'll end up roasting like a turkey in a basting bag.
    * A lightweight jacket or sweater in case you get cool in a restaurant.
    * Small hand held fans.
    * Refillable water bottles so you can refill at water fountains without waiting in line for water. The lines are longer in the summer to buy water.
    * You're probably going to change clothes more often so bring more clothes or be prepared to do laundry.

    I answered a question for another Guest giving him some suggestions on staying cool at Disney World that I think you may find helpful as well.
