Hi! We'll be in Disney World during the RunDisney Springtime Race Series and I was wondering which park the races will be running through to avoid the crowds/traffic. I've tried looking on the website but have not found specifics. Thank you!

    Hi Cari!

Welcome to planDisney!  You'll be at the starting line of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation before you know it!  runDisney race weekends are full of additional events around the parks, so let's take a look at what you need to know.

Cari, final details such as course maps, have not yet been released for the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend.  However, in my own runDisney experience, most races have started and ended in the parking areas near EPCOT.  runDisney races also have very early start times with many of them finished before the parks even open.  In fact, when I ran the 10K during Springtime Surprise a few years ago, I was finished, showered, and already back in the parks before 10:00 AM!  This should hopefully mean that the impacts you'll notice as a non-participant will be minimal.  If anything, you may see some lingering traffic/road closure impacts first thing in the morning on race days.  As your vacation gets closer, I would recommend checking the runDisney website and staying tuned to their Instagram page for the latest race announcements.

I also noticed that you're about 60 days away from your arrival - a very exciting time when it comes to making final plans for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  This means that you should be able to start making advanced dining reservations and booking any special tours or events that you'd like to experience from the Enchanting Extras Collection.  The Disney Parks Blog just recently announced the grand re-opening of 1900 Park Fare with an all-new character dining line-up beginning April 10.  These reservations open on March 5 if you'd like to be among the first to dine with Aladdin, Tiana, Mirabel, and Cinderella.

Your vacation dates also mean that you'll be able to experience the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.  I love walking through the park to see all of the beautiful topiaries and trying all of the yummy food at the Outdoor Kitchens.  The Foodie Guide for this popular event was just released and is a great resource when planning for your visit!

Cari, I hope you enjoy a wonderful vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!  Please stop by to see me and my planDisney pals again if we can be of any further assistance!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
