Hi Darcey!
Halloween time is a very busy time at Walt Disney World. The special event party,
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, is certainly a highlight for many guests to experience the festive happenings.
A hidden perk for this holiday is found in the
Fort Wilderness Resort. During this time reservations at the campground are so highly sought after that guests must reserve their space a year in advance. Take an evening during your stay and head over to the resort to go from loop to loop viewing all the incredible Halloween decorations that the guests bring. They will vary from fun to whimsical to unique and to scary and it is obvious that these guests have planned well in advance and taken time to plan.
You can also book a
Carriage Ride at Fort Wilderness where you can relax and let the horse do the work as you go from loop to loop to view the decor. You can reserve ahead and the start location is just outside Pioneer Hall and the Trails End restaurant down near the marina.
For several days before the actual holiday the Fort will host many great activities. One of the most Popular is the golf cart parade which is usually on the day before Halloween or October 30th. Final times have not been printed but this has been the norm for the last several years. Guests will decorate their carts with some being so elaborate that they actually look like pirate ships or castles. It is a great family activity to come watch the carts pass by. The parade is normally anywhere from around 5pm-6pm but keep watching for the updates.
Every resort will have some activities as well so be sure and check when you arrive.
