We are going to Disney World during the first star wars weekend in May 2013. Do we need to make reservations to participate in the star wars weekend? I would appreciate any other suggestions you have. This will be our first time here. Our son is 10.

    Hi Nancy!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Star Wars Weekends are a lot of fun.  The event takes place at Disney's Hollywood Studios on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  The event is included in your admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios.  If you want to get a celebrity autograph or purchase some of the very limited Star Wars Weekend related merchandise then you need to be at the park a couple of hours before park opening.  However, if those things don't interest you, then I suggest just getting to the park about 30 minutes before it is scheduled to open.

The two best things to see are the parade and the Hyperspace Hoopla.  The parade is full of Star Wars characters and is definitely a "must do".  The Hyperspace Hoopla is fabulous and definitely should not be missed.  The Hyperspace Hoopla is my favorite activity of the day during Star Wars Weekends.  When you arrive at the Studios for the day, you will be given a map with a list of special activities, meet and greets, etc.  For any activity you want to do, I suggest arriving at least 45 minutes before it is scheduled to happen to help ensure that you can get in.

I hope this helps!  I've been to Star Wars Weekends several times in the past, so please send more questions if you have any.  You can send them directly to me or any other panelist!
