Hi Jean!
Everyone has been talking about Disney’s new
Minnie Van Service. These absolutely adorable red and white polka dotted cars are drawing attention everywhere they go. Since they are a new part of the Disney transportation system they can also go places where taxis and other outside company vehicles are not allowed.
They have been put into service to assist guests with their resort to resort transportation needs but they can also drop you off at parks or anywhere else on property. The service began with just a few of the Deluxe Resorts involved but it has now expanded to include seven of the resorts. These resorts in the program are: Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom, Contemporary, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Grand Floridian.
The cost is $20 and each van will have two car seats allowing families to ride together. You will need to use the Lyft App and the concierge at one of the participating resorts will give you the code to activate the Disney section for transportation.
If you find that you need to take a regular Mears taxi during your stay you simply need to let them know when you call the number, 407-422-2222, that you will require a car seat or a booster seat. They will dispatch a taxi that can handle that as well as the number of guests you might be traveling with.
I have used both modes during my Disney stays and have found them both to have perks. But I will admit that the one thing that I want with the new Minnie Van service is that I want to take one of them home with me and add a big bow to the top!
